Enhancing Teaching Skills: Semester 2 Microteaching Sessions

Day 1: January 10, 2025

The second semester's Microteaching sessions were conducted on January 10 and 13, 2025. Students from our department acted as participants, while the class teacher served as the supervisor, with three additional observers present to provide feedback.

The session began at 10:00 AM, and my turn was scheduled from 11:15 to 11:30 AM. I demonstrated the Skill of Stimulus Variation using the topic "Force." Incorporating simple demonstrations and encouraging pupil participation made the class interactive and engaging. The positive feedback from the teacher and observers boosted my confidence significantly.

For the remainder of the session, I acted as a student in other classes. This experience was nostalgic, bringing back memories of school days. The session concluded at 3:30 PM, with most students completing their presentations.

Day 2: January 13, 2025

The remaining three students delivered their lessons on January 13, 2025, marking the conclusion of the Semester 2 Microteaching sessions.

Reflections

The Microteaching sessions for both semesters have been invaluable in improving various teaching skills. These practical experiences provided a strong foundation and built confidence, serving as a primary step toward the upcoming teaching practice. It was a memorable and enriching experience for everyone involved.
