On 31 October 2025, a workshop on Video Creation was conducted. The session began with a brief talk by our Principal, Riju John Sir. The resource person, Harilal Sir, started the class at 10:00 a.m., introducing the basics of video editing and its essential tools. The workshop was informative and helped us learn simple methods to create effective videos. The session ended at 1:00 p.m., giving us useful digital skills for future academic work.

🎢 Blog Title: A Melodic Journey – Music Composition Workshop Experience

 


As part of our third-semester Art and Aesthetic Education course, we had a Music Composition Workshop class. The session began at 10:00 a.m. with a welcome address by Sreelekshmi Miss, Assistant Professor of Art Education. The resource person for the session was Mr. Anayadi Rakesh, who guided us through the different aspects of music.

In the morning session, he explained the basics of music, the different notes, and taught songs related to each note. He also taught us a beautiful prayer song, which made the atmosphere lively and spiritual. At 2:00 p.m., the students were divided into groups of five to six members. Each group was given half an hour to write and compose a song based on their own subject. The presentation began at 2:30 p.m., and all the groups performed enthusiastically. In my group of five members, we chose the topic “Atom” and beautifully sang the song we composed. Every group performed creatively and made the session enjoyable.

The workshop ended with a vote of thanks given by Fr. Terry T. It was a wonderful session that helped us learn how to compose music in different ways related to various topics. The experience truly enhanced our creativity and appreciation for the art of music.

Cherishing Togetherness: The Grand Conclusion of Lokahi Camp Day 5

 



The final day of the Lokahi Community Living Camp (25/10/25) marked a memorable conclusion to five days of learning, laughter, and togetherness. The valedictory function began at 10:00 AM with Sheba Susan Philip and Nayana serving as the hosts of the program. The session began with a warm welcome address delivered by the camp teacher coordinator Kumari Sreelakshmi. The function was presided over by the college principal, Mr. Riju John, who guided and inspired the students throughout the camp. The inauguration of the closing ceremony was performed by Mr. Mullakkara Ratnakaran, former Minister for Agriculture, Government of Kerala. His presence and insightful words added great value to the occasion. Following this, the camp report was presented by Mr. Jeevan, highlighting the vibrant activities, creative sessions, and joyful experiences of the past five days.

Awards were then distributed to appreciate outstanding participation and leadership. The Best Camper awards were presented to Arunima (Natural Science) and Albin K. Alexander (Mathematics). The camp coordinators, Kumari Jisa and Mr. Jeevan, along with Mr. Albin, who suggested the name “Lokahi,” and all group leaders, were also honored for their valuable contributions. The program concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by Fr. Sabu, who expressed gratitude to everyone who contributed to the success of Lokahi Camp.

As the curtains came down on this five-day journey, the spirit of Lokahi—meaning unity, harmony, and togetherness—remained alive in every participant’s heart, leaving behind memories to be cherished forever.

Exploring Nature’s Beauty: Lokahi Camp Day 4

 The fourth day of the Lokahi Community Living Camp (24/10/25) was filled with joy, laughter, and excitement as the students set out on a memorable sightseeing trip. The educational tour beautifully combined learning with recreation, offering everyone a refreshing experience amidst nature.

As part of the journey, the teacher trainees visited several breathtaking destinations including the Pine Forest, Thankalppara, Tea Lake, and Parunthumpara. Each spot showcased the serene beauty of nature, giving everyone a sense of peace and wonder. Throughout the journey, students participated with enthusiasm and cheer, enjoying every moment together. The tour organizing committee coordinated the trip in an excellent manner, ensuring smooth travel and enjoyable experiences for all.

This tour, which perfectly blended education and recreation, created unforgettable memories for everyone who took part. A total of 107 students and 5 teachers joined the trip. Special thanks and heartfelt appreciation were extended to Fr. Sabu, who served as the tour coordinator and guided the team with great care and affection. The day truly celebrated the spirit of Lokahi — unity, joy, and shared experiences amidst nature’s splendor.

A Day of Energy and Exploration: Lokahi Camp Day 3

 




The third day of the Lokahi Community Living Camp (23/10/25) began at 9:00 AM with the morning assembly. The session was hosted by Jesna and Vaishnavi, followed by a heartfelt prayer song led by Muhsina, Anushree, Riya, and Jinsi. The thought for the day was presented by Amitha, and the news reading was done by Akhila and Jaimy. The theme of the day was introduced by Mrs. Neethu, and the day’s highlights were shared by Arunima Rachel.

At 10:00 AM, a fascinating session titled “Manomukham” was conducted by the renowned mentalist and mind reader Mr. Shivaprakash. His extraordinary demonstration of mind reading and psychological insights amazed everyone and made the session highly interactive and engaging. Our team had the organizing duty for the day and was responsible for welcoming the guest and coordinating the session arrangements, which went smoothly and successfully. At 12:00 noon, the “Dhamakka” Zumba dance program was presented by Harry & Team from HLS Studio, Kollam. The session was filled with rhythm, laughter, and energy, bringing the entire group together in a wave of enthusiasm.

After lunch, at 2:00 PM, the camp members began their journey to Kuttikkanam, Idukki. The scenic ride was filled with joy and songs, and by 6:00 PM, the team reached Panchalimedu, where everyone enjoyed the cool mist and breathtaking views. Later, at 8:30 PM, the much-awaited campfire was held, adding warmth and togetherness to the chilly evening. The night stay was arranged at Provence Peermade Kuttikkanam Ashram and Convent, providing a peaceful and comfortable end to the day. The third day of Lokahi Camp blended learning, laughter, travel, and teamwork, leaving everyone inspired and refreshed for the adventures ahead.

Harmony in Diversity: Lokahi Camp Day 2 Filled with Music, Learning, and Joy

 The second day of the Lokahi Community Living Camp (22/10/25) beautifully reflected the camp’s theme — “Harmony in Diversity.” The day began at 9:00 AM with the morning assembly. The session was anchored by Anu G. Saji, followed by a soulful prayer song by Megha, Vaishnavi, and Rajalakshmi. The thought for the day was presented by Varsha, and the news reading was done by Sheba and Alfiya. The theme of the day, “Harmony in Diversity,” was introduced and explained by Shamna.

At 10:00 AM, the campus resonated with melodies as “Swaralaya,” a musical seminar, began. The session on “The Relevance and Importance of Musical Intelligence in Teacher Education” was conducted by Dr. Manakkal Gopalakrishnan (former Research Officer, SCERT Kerala), accompanied by violinist Mavelikkara Vijayakrishnan and mridangam artist Srirangam Krishnakumar. Their combined performance and discussion created a musical and intellectual experience for all. The session concluded with felicitation speeches by Shaheena, Anagha, and Akshara, followed by a vote of thanks from Rose.

After refreshments, at 11:45 AM, the “Agniratham” session was held. Mr. Aneesh from Kottarakkara Fire and Rescue Station led an engaging class titled “On the Path of Safety.” He gave practical demonstrations on CPR and the use of fire extinguishers, which provided valuable awareness about safety and emergency response. Jeeja delivered the vote of thanks.

After lunch, cultural programs by different groups filled the stage with creativity and cheer. At 2:45 PM, a thought-provoking interactive session titled “Media Pulse” was conducted by Mr. Ayyappadas, a journalist from Malayala Manorama. The program was organized by Mrs. Neethu S. Raj from the Malayalam department. The session gave deep insights into the role of media, journalistic ethics, and communication in society. Sheba Susan Philip offered the vote of thanks.

In the evening, a drama titled “ALPHII (12) MISSING” was staged by the Rangaprabhat, Alanthara, Vennjaramoodu group. It humorously yet meaningfully portrayed social and emotional themes about relationships and human values. The performance received great applause, and Shalini expressed thanks on behalf of everyone.

The day concluded with a mesmerizing musical night titled “Beats Audios” at 7:30 PM, which brought everyone together in rhythm and celebration. Our team took care of the morning cleaning duties and served lunch and evening refreshments. We also performed a small group dance as part of the cultural program, which was warmly appreciated by the audience. Thus, the second day of Lokahi Camp was a harmonious blend of music, creativity, learning, and teamwork, truly living up to its theme — “Harmony in Diversity.”

Unity in Diversity: The Vibrant Beginning of Lokahi Camp Day 1

The first day of the Lokahi community living camp, held on October 21, began with great enthusiasm and excitement. Registration started at 8:30 AM, filling the campus with an energetic atmosphere as teacher trainees gathered for the five-day journey of learning and togetherness.

At 9:30 AM, the college principal, Mr. Riju John, hoisted the camp flag, officially marking the beginning of Lokahi 2025. The inaugural ceremony began at 10:00 AM with a welcome speech by Mrs. Smitha M.S. The college principal, Mr. Riju John, presided over the function, and the camp was inaugurated by the renowned poet and writer Mr. Kureepuzha Sreekumar. The college manager, Very Rev. Zacharia Ramban, delivered a meaningful address. Felicitations were offered by Fr. Simon Lukose (Administrator), Mrs. Jaisy John (Ward Councillor), Rev. Fr. Thomson Grace, Dr. Biju G., and Mrs. Sheeja Chacko (Staff Secretary). Student coordinator Jisa C.S. proposed the vote of thanks. After the tea break, the theme presentation session began at 11:30 AM. Dr. Noufal N, Assistant Professor at Sree Narayana Guru Open University, led an inspiring session on “Unity.” He emphasized that every human being is unique and that true humanity shines when we understand and embrace these differences.

After lunch, Mr. Ranjith T, HR Trainer from the Alappuzha Collectorate, conducted an inspiring session on “A Direction for Dreams.” His talk, along with engaging games and interactions, motivated all teacher trainees to dream and work with purpose. In the evening, the session “Laughter and Thoughts” added charm to the day. Mimicry artist and Flowers TV Comedy Utsavam fame Mr. Vineeth Elamadu delivered a delightful and thought-provoking performance. He reminded everyone that it’s not about how long we live, but how meaningfully we leave our mark in the world. His humorous imitations and interactive games filled the hall with laughter and reflection.

 Despite heavy rain and a few minor challenges, the enthusiasm of the trainees never faded. The first day of Lokahi Camp turned into a memorable beginning filled with inspiration, teamwork, and unity. As a proud member of Team Nova (Decoration Committee), I was happy to see our decorations adding colour and charm to every corner of the campus, creating a perfect ambiance for this beautiful start.

🌿 “Lokahi 2024–26”: Logo Revealing Ceremony of the Five-Day Community Living Camp 🌿


The logo revealing ceremony of the five-day community living camp “Lokahi” of Baselios Marthoma Mathews II Training College, Kottarakkara, was held on October 17, 2025, in the college seminar hall. The programme was anchored by Jesna Johnson and began with a prayer by Kalyani. The welcome address was delivered by Smitha teacher. The camp logo was officially revealed by Adv. Unnikrishnan Menon, Chairman of Kottarakkara Municipality. The college principal, Riju John Sir, presented a memento to Adv. Unnikrishnan Menon as a token of appreciation. College Administrator Rev. Simon Lukose conveyed his felicitations, and Sreelakshmi teacher graced the occasion with her presence. The meaning of the camp name “Lokahi” was explained by student coordinator Jeevan Joy, and the programme concluded with a vote of thanks by student coordinator Jisa C.S.

 On October 16, 2025, at 10:00 a.m., our college's Women Cell, in collaboration with the Kerala State Women's Commission, hosted a premarital counselling event. Muhsina and Kalyani offered the opening prayer, and Nayana served as the event's anchor. Fr. Simon Lukose, the college administrator, gave the presidency address after Riju John Sir gave the welcome address. Adv. Indira Ravindran, a member of the Kerala State Women's Commission, officially launched the program. The Kerala Coordinator and Director of the Life Foundation, Beena Mol S.G., conducted an educational workshop with a focus on emotional compatibility, mutual respect, and understanding in marriage. Smitha teacher, Women Cell Coordinator, gave a vote of appreciation to end the event.

🌸 Cherishing the Final Days – Week 10 of Teaching Practice

 πŸŒΌ Day 41 – Completing the Portions

The forty-first day began with the usual school routine. We reached the school by 9:00 AM, signed the register, and attended the morning assembly that included the prayer, pledge, and national anthem. During the 3rd period, I had a Physics class in 9C, where I taught Newton’s Third Law of Motion — my last topic for the phase. With that class, I successfully completed all the portions allotted to me. At 12:15 PM, we performed our noon meal serving duty. From 1:00 PM onwards, a special prayer session was organized in the school for students, teachers, and staff members by class 10B. Each class participated for about 15 minutes, creating a peaceful and spiritual atmosphere. The afternoon was calm, with no further classes scheduled. The school day ended with the national anthem at 3:45 PM, and we left for home with a sense of satisfaction.



🌷 Day 42 – Achievement Test and Art Events

The forty-second day followed the usual routine. After the morning assembly, I conducted the Achievement Test in class 8B during the 3rd period to evaluate students’ learning based on the completed units. It gave me valuable insights into how much they had understood and where improvements were needed. We completed our noon meal duty at 12:15 PM. Later, another special prayer session was held, this time organized by class 10A. In the afternoon, from 2:00 PM onwards, the Water Colour Drawing Competition was conducted in the science lab as part of the upcoming school Arts Festival. The event brought colour and joy to the school atmosphere. The day ended with the national anthem at 3:45 PM, leaving us with a feeling of accomplishment.




🌻 Day 43 – A Heartfelt Farewell



The forty-third and final day of our first phase teaching practice was filled with mixed emotions. We reached the school at 9:00 AM, signed the register, and prepared for the day’s events. At 11:00 AM, the Headmaster arranged a special meeting with all teachers to appreciate and acknowledge our contributions during the practice period. Their kind words truly touched our hearts and made us feel valued. After the noon meal duty, I handled a Physical Education class in 8B on the topic Sprain – Its Causes and Effects during the 6th period. In the 8th period, we spent time with our students in 8B, taking photos, sharing feedback, and exchanging words of affection. The students’ love and warmth made it a memorable farewell. We also offered small tokens of gratitude to the teachers and students for their constant support and kindness.

At 3:45 PM, as the national anthem echoed for the last time, we signed the register and left the school with hearts full of memories. This final week beautifully wrapped up our teaching journey — a phase that taught us not only how to teach, but also how to connect, inspire, and grow with our students.

🌿 Ninth Week of Teaching Practice – Awareness and Action

Day 38 – Impulsive Force and Child Rights Awareness

The thirty-eighth day of our first phase teaching practice began as usual. We reached the school by 9:00 AM and signed the register. During the 3rd period, I had a class in 9C where I taught the topic Impulsive Force and Impulse of Force from the unit Laws of Motion. In the 4th period, I had a substitution class in 8B, where I taught Reactions of Metals with Atmospheric Air from the unit Metals and Non-Metals. In the 6th period, as part of our practicum activity, we conducted a session on Awareness of Child Rights among Secondary School Students in class 8B. A questionnaire was distributed to assess how much the students knew about their rights, helping us understand their level of awareness. At 12:15 PM, we performed our regular noon meal serving duty. In the afternoon session, I had no further classes. During the last period, as part of Sevana Varam, students engaged in cleaning the garden area, showing enthusiasm and teamwork. The school day ended with the national anthem, after which we signed the register and returned home.



🌈 Day 39 – Pressure Balance and Conscientization Programme

The thirty-ninth day of our first phase teaching practice resumed after three days of Pooja holidays. We reached the school by 9:00 AM and signed the register. The morning assembly began at 9:20 AM with the usual prayer, pledge, and national anthem. During the 2nd period, I had a class in 8D where I taught the topic Pressure Balance from the unit Pressure. I also handled a substitution period in 8B, taking a Physical Education class on Vitamin Deficiency and Related Diseases. At 12:45 PM, we performed our regular noon meal serving duty. From 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM, we conducted the Conscientization Programme on the topic Child Rights, which was inaugurated by Princy, the Social Science teacher. The session was jointly handled by Fr. Terry, Sherin Mathew, and me. The programme was impactful and effectively spread awareness about the importance of protecting and respecting child rights. After the national anthem at 3:45 PM, we signed the register and returned home.




🌼 Day 40 – Corrosion of Metals and Gandhi Jayanthi Sevana Programme

The fortieth day of our first phase teaching practice began with the usual school routine. We reached the school at 9:00 AM, signed the register, and attended the morning assembly at 9:20 AM with prayer, pledge, and national anthem. During the 3rd period, I had a Chemistry class in 8B, where I taught the topic Corrosion of Metals from the unit Metals and Non-Metals, marking the completion of the unit. At 12:15 PM, we performed our regular noon meal serving duty. In the evening session, a Sevana Programme was conducted as part of the Gandhi Jayanthi celebrations on October 2. Students actively participated in cleaning activities and service programmes, promoting the message of “Cleanliness is Next to Godliness” and community responsibility. The day concluded with the national anthem at 3:45 PM, after which we signed the register and returned home.
