Harmony in Diversity: Lokahi Camp Day 2 Filled with Music, Learning, and Joy

.

The second day of the Lokahi Community Living Camp (22/10/25) beautifully reflected the camp’s theme — “Harmony in Diversity.” The day began at 9:00 AM with the morning assembly. The session was anchored by Anu G. Saji, followed by a soulful prayer song by Megha, Vaishnavi, and Rajalakshmi. The thought for the day was presented by Varsha, and the news reading was done by Sheba and Alfiya. The theme of the day, “Harmony in Diversity,” was introduced and explained by Shamna.

At 10:00 AM, the campus resonated with melodies as “Swaralaya,” a musical seminar, began. The session on “The Relevance and Importance of Musical Intelligence in Teacher Education” was conducted by Dr. Manakkal Gopalakrishnan (former Research Officer, SCERT Kerala), accompanied by violinist Mavelikkara Vijayakrishnan and mridangam artist Srirangam Krishnakumar. Their combined performance and discussion created a musical and intellectual experience for all. The session concluded with felicitation speeches by Shaheena, Anagha, and Akshara, followed by a vote of thanks from Rose.

After refreshments, at 11:45 AM, the “Agniratham” session was held. Mr. Aneesh from Kottarakkara Fire and Rescue Station led an engaging class titled “On the Path of Safety.” He gave practical demonstrations on CPR and the use of fire extinguishers, which provided valuable awareness about safety and emergency response. Jeeja delivered the vote of thanks.

After lunch, cultural programs by different groups filled the stage with creativity and cheer. At 2:45 PM, a thought-provoking interactive session titled “Media Pulse” was conducted by Mr. Ayyappadas, a journalist from Malayala Manorama. The program was organized by Mrs. Neethu S. Raj from the Malayalam department. The session gave deep insights into the role of media, journalistic ethics, and communication in society. Sheba Susan Philip offered the vote of thanks.

In the evening, a drama titled “ALPHII (12) MISSING” was staged by the Rangaprabhat, Alanthara, Vennjaramoodu group. It humorously yet meaningfully portrayed social and emotional themes about relationships and human values. The performance received great applause, and Shalini expressed thanks on behalf of everyone.

The day concluded with a mesmerizing musical night titled “Beats Audios” at 7:30 PM, which brought everyone together in rhythm and celebration. Our team took care of the morning cleaning duties and served lunch and evening refreshments. We also performed a small group dance as part of the cultural program, which was warmly appreciated by the audience. Thus, the second day of Lokahi Camp was a harmonious blend of music, creativity, learning, and teamwork, truly living up to its theme — “Harmony in Diversity.”
