"First Day of Criticism"๐Ÿ‘ฉ‍๐Ÿซ

                DAY 1

As part of our B.Ed. curriculum, we are required to participate in criticism sessions based on our practice teaching classes. The first day of criticism took place on Thursday, 27th February 2025, with active involvement from the Physical Science department. The day started at 10:00 AM with a class handled by Sheba Mariam Thomas, followed by another session from 10:50 AM to 11:30 AM conducted by Karthika M.G.. Both classes were well-organized, featuring strong interactions between the teacher and students, as well as among the students themselves, which made the learning experience engaging and effective. After the break, I observed two classes in the Malayalam department, taken by Adithya P. and Aleena Hanna Mathew, which gave me valuable insights into language teaching approaches. Post-lunch, the sessions continued, with K.V. Nimmi leading the class from 2:10 PM to 2:50 PM. Finally, I had the opportunity to take my own class from 3:00 PM to 3:40 PM on the topic “Water as a Universal Solvent”, where I incorporated videos, experiments, and charts to enhance understanding. I was delighted to receive appreciative comments from both my peers and the teacher, which boosted my confidence and inspired me for future teaching sessions. With the conclusion of my class, the first day of criticism ended successfully, and the initial anxiety I felt was replaced with a sense of accomplishment and encouragement.

"Sports Day Highlights: Effort, Energy, and Encouragement"๐Ÿ…๐Ÿƒ‍♀️

                    SPORTS DAY 2K25

On Tuesday, February 25, our college hosted the much-awaited annual sports meet as part of the B.Ed. curriculum. While the first semester focused on games like cricket and football, the second semester shifted the spotlight to athletics events. The program commenced at 9:00 AM with an impressive march past, led by Sports Secretary Sheba Susan Philip, followed by the three houses—Red, Blue, and Green—each accompanied by their respective leaders and flags. The Principal officially welcomed the gathering, after which our Chief Guest, Fr. M. Jacob, gave a motivational address and inaugurated the meet with a shot put throw.

The day's events included a variety of track and field competitions such as the 100m, 200m, 400m races, relay events, standing long jump, shot put, discus throw, javelin throw, throwball, and long jump. I was proud to be a part of the Yellow team, under the capable leadership of Sincy Maria Sam, and participated in the 100m, 200m, and 4x100m relay. I was thrilled to win first place in all three events, which greatly boosted my confidence. Receiving certificates from Principal Riju Sir and Nisha Sir was a proud moment for me.

Behind the scenes, everything was well-organized with special committees ensuring smooth arrangements for refreshments and first aid. The prize distribution ceremony began shortly after the events ended at 1:30 PM, with David as the anchor and the Union Chairman delivering the welcome speech. Our Principal shared a few words of appreciation, and the certificates were handed out by him along with Nisha Ma’am, while Lal Sir, our physical education teacher, concluded the ceremony with a vote of thanks. The entire day was filled with energy, excitement, and encouragement, making it a truly unforgettable experience.

DEMONSTRATION CLASS -24-02-2025

Criticism Class Observation – Monday, February 24

On Monday, February 24, as part of the B.Ed. curriculum, we had a criticism class during which our seniors conducted a model class demonstration to provide us with practical exposure to the activity-based lesson plan for the first semester. The day began with two optional demonstration sessions in the Physical Science department. The first class, from 10:00 AM to 10:40 AM, was handled by Ansu Ponnachan on the topic "Magnetic Induction," which was engaging and made effective use of audiovisual aids, charts, and interactive activities. The second session, from 10:40 AM to 11:20 AM, was conducted by Devika J. B. on "Photochemical Reactions," where she used games, quizzes, and activity cards to explain the concepts clearly. After these sessions, from 11:30 AM to 12:10 PM, we attended a Malayalam optional class, where we participated as students to observe and understand a different teaching method and style. This cross-optional experience gave us a better understanding of how teaching varies across subjects. In the final session of the day, from 12:10 PM to 12:50 PM, Ullas Mohan taught the topic "Oxygen – Preparation and Physical Properties," which was informative and well-presented, with clear explanations and appropriate teaching aids.

Overall, the entire day was informative, well-organized, and encouraging. We are grateful to our seniors for their effort in organizing and presenting these sessions during our exam vacation. It was a valuable opportunity to observe effective teaching strategies, classroom management, and content delivery, which will surely help us in our future teaching practice.

Friday's schedule included an insightful career guidance session by the Employment Exchange, Government of Kerala. Led by Unnimaya Suresh and Sandeep Suresh from CDC Kottarakkara, the session covered job opportunities, skill development, PSC/SSC/NET coaching, and personal counseling.

Interactive activities and games made the one-hour session both engaging and informative. It was a meaningful addition to our day, helping us better understand the path ahead.

A Heartfelt Valentine’s Celebration ❣️๐Ÿ‘ฉ‍❤️‍๐Ÿ‘จ๐Ÿ’Œ

Though we couldn’t celebrate Valentine’s Day on February 14 due to a tight schedule, our college union made sure the spirit wasn’t missed. On Friday afternoon, the General Hall turned festive with balloons and creative decor.

The program began with a warm welcome, followed by each department recreating romantic movie scenes—fun, vibrant, and full of creativity. Solo performances and a short documentary added more flavor to the day.

We also had a letterbox and a sticky note board to share thoughts, though the letters remained unread due to time. With full support from our teachers and principal, the day turned out to be a memorable celebration of friendship, love, and creativity.

Empowering Educators: A Workshop on Digital Creativity

In today’s dynamic educational landscape, technology has become a vital tool for enhancing teaching and professional growth. On February 6th, the students of Baselios Marthoma Mathews II Training Centre had the privilege of attending a transformative workshop on Digital Album and Profile Making, led by the talented Harilal Sir. Having previously guided students through blog creation, he returned to inspire a new wave of digital creativity and innovation.

The session began at 10 AM with a warm welcome from the principal, setting the stage for an insightful day. Harilal Sir kickstarted the workshop with a session on creating digital albums—powerful tools for documenting classroom activities, school events, or personal portfolios. Students learned how to design and share these albums seamlessly on blogs, blending creativity with technology.

In the next session, the focus shifted to building professional digital profiles. Whether for platforms like LinkedIn or personal teaching portfolios, Harilal Sir provided practical tips to create polished profiles that stand out in a competitive job market.

The afternoon was dedicated to refining digital profiles and diving into video-making. With valuable insights and creative tips, students discovered how to craft impactful videos to enhance their storytelling and teaching methods.

This workshop wasn’t just about mastering tools; it was about empowering future educators to embrace technology as creators, innovators, and storytellers. By the end of the day, students felt inspired to document their journey, build their brand, and connect with the digital age.

As educators of tomorrow, this session equipped us with skills that go beyond the classroom—preparing us to make a lasting impact in the world of education. Truly, this was a day of inspiration and innovation, marking a step toward becoming well-rounded, modern educators.
