A Day of Learning : Microteaching Demonstration Session

As part of the B.Ed curriculum, a Microteaching demonstration session was conducted on Saturday, January 4, 2024. This practical session was organized to help us understand the essential teaching skills required for effective classroom management.

Our seniors took on the role of teachers during the session, while we acted as students. The demonstration covered around 10 essential teaching skills. Each senior delivered a brief 15-minute class on a specific topic, with 10 students participating. They explained their assigned skills, focusing on the components and techniques involved in delivering an engaging and balanced lesson. Faculty members were present throughout the session to guide and provide constructive feedback.

The program began at 10:00 AM with a warm welcome from our principal, Dr. Riju John. The session concluded at 12:45 PM, leaving us with valuable insights into classroom dynamics and effective teaching strategies.

In the afternoon, optional-specific teaching skills were demonstrated in separate sessions, offering a more focused learning experience for each subject group.

This session was a stepping stone in our teaching journey, helping us learn how to maintain class balance and deliver impactful lessons. The experience left us with a better understanding of the teaching profession and prepared us to take on our Microteaching practicals with confidence.
