CHEM DISC
As part of my B.Ed. teaching practice, I developed an innovative teaching aid called “Chem Disc – Spinning Wheel” based on the Class 8 Science chapter Elements and Compounds. The model was designed to make the topic Chemical Formula of Compounds more interactive and enjoyable for students.
The Chem Disc consists of a rotating wheel mounted on a wooden stand. One side of the disc displays the names of compounds, while the other side shows the elements and their number of atoms (for example, Water → H (2), O (1)). Students spin the wheel and identify the composition of each compound through observation and discussion. This low-cost, eco-friendly model encourages active participation, group learning, and curiosity among students. It transforms a theoretical chemistry concept into a fun, hands-on learning experience, making classroom teaching more effective and engaging.
