The last Onam celebration at Baselios Marthoma Mathews II Training College was held on 27th August, Wednesday, marked by joy, culture, and unity. The day began with a vibrant khoshayathra, accompanied by chendamelam, with students in traditional attire joining Mahabali in the procession, which ended at the college with a grand padakkam pottikal. The inaugural session followed, attended by our Manager and Principal, after which cultural programs began, including Thiruvathira by first and second-year students, a lively flash mob, and stage performances from the first years.
Traditional Onam games like Kasera Kali, Kulam Kara, Candy Race, Kalam Adi, and Biscuits Catcher brought fun and excitement, followed by a grand Onasadhya with payasam served to teachers, juniors, and M.Ed. students. The day’s highlights, Vadam Vali and Athapookalam, saw spirited competitions between first and second years, with the second years emerging victorious. The celebration concluded with a prize distribution ceremony announcing house champions, a heartfelt vote of thanks by Sithusha teacher, and words of gratitude from our Principal. It was a memorable day filled with happiness, unity, and festive spirit.
