Community - Based Practical Field Trip : October 4, 2024

On October 4, 2024, our class went on an unforgettable field trip as part of our community-based practical. We split up the students into two groups and went to different places related to our subjects. English, Social Science, and Natural Science students were directed by Riju Sir, Shijini tr, Sheeja tr, and Praveena tr, while Malayalam, Math, and Physical Science students were led by Akhil Raj Sir, Vismaya Thomas, and Shamna Rani tr.

First Stop: Kumaranasan Memorial, Thonnakkal, Trivandrum

Our first destination was the Kumaranasan Memorial in Thonnakkal, a serene and well-preserved house of the famous poet Kumaranasan. The memorial is filled with photos, handwritten books, and other artifacts that provide a glimpse into his literary works and life. The peaceful atmosphere made it a perfect location for literature students to connect with his legacy.

Second Stop: Priyadarsini Planetarium

Our next visit was to the Priyadarsini Planetarium, where we explored a variety of scientific concepts. The Planetarium features a 3D theatre, a science play park, and an astronomical observatory. The interactive installations and experiments made the learning process engaging and informative. After a morning of exploration, we enjoyed a well-arranged lunch at the Planetarium.

The village featured a variety of crafts, including musical instruments, woodworks, and traditional ornaments. The friendly staff/artists were eager to explain the materials and techniques behind their intricate creations, making the experience both educational and enjoyable.
